Dr. Clayton Nicks is Chair of the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences and an Associate Professor of Exercise Science. He earned his Ph.D. from Middle Tennessee State University. Prior to arriving at CSU, he was a collegiate cross-country / track and field coach and a professional in the corporate health and wellness industry. Dr. Nicks’ research has primarily focused on inspiratory and expiratory muscles as well as measurement / evaluation issues in human performance. He has served as chair of the Institutional Review Board, President of the CSU Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, Executive Council of the Faculty Senate, and several other committees. Dr. Nicks is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the Southeastern Chapter of the ACSM, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
